Assignments

How to check your submissions and find your grades

The assignment tool in BbLearn allows students to enter a submission directly into the assignment window, or to upload a file for submission. Keep in mind, it is the students responsibility to confirm that the assignment was submitted successfully.

  • The assignments tool presents a variety of learning activities. Assignments list the name, description, and attachments for class work. Your instructor provides you all the information you need to complete the assignment. You can include comments for your instructor before you submit your work

    The assignments tool presents a variety of learning activities. You view and submit assignments from one location. Your instructor designs assignments that require you to:

    • Provide text on the Upload Assignment page.
    • Attach files from your computer or from the Content Collection.
    • Both provide text and attach files.

    Assignments list the name, description, and attachments for class work. Your instructor provides you all the information you need to complete the assignment. You can include comments for your instructor before you submit your work.



  • Submitting Group Assignments

    You can submit your work to complete group assignments in the following ways:

    • Text typed on the Upload Assignment page.
    • Files attached from your computer or from the Content Collection.
    • A combination of both text and attached files.

    Assignments list the name, description, and attachments for course work. You can also add comments for your instructor.

    All members of a group receive the same grade for group assignments.

  • Assignment Grades
    Assignments are not graded automatically. Each assignment needs to be graded by your instructor. You can review the information provided by your instructor in My Grades or on the assignment's Review Submission History page

  • Safe Assign

    Safe Assign is used to prevent plagiarism and to create opportunities to help you identify how to properly attribute sources rather than paraphrase.SafeAssign compares your submitted assignments against a set of academic papers to identify areas of overlap between the submitted assignment and existing works.

My Grades

The My Grades page shows the status of gradable items, such as tests, assignments, journal and blog entries, and discussion posts. If you don't see a grade it may be that your instructor has not yet released your grades.

  • Instructors must manually add the My Grades tool. If you don't see the link in your course menu, your instructor has not yet added the tool.
  • Gradedactivities that were submitted inside BbLearn may have a clickable Title, Comments, or Rubric where you can get more details on your submission.
  • Submitted activities that have not yet been graded will have an exclamation point icon.
  • Upcoming activities that have not yet been submitted will be listed with a dash for the score.
  • Activities that weresubmitted externalto BbLearn (i.e., offline), may still have grades entered into your My Grades area.

The University of Texas at San Antonio has licensed Blackboard Mobile Learn allowing students to interact with the mobile apps to access their courses and content on a variety of devices including iOS®, Android™, BlackBerry®, and webOS® smartphones.
