LX Design: From IDEAS to ACTION

Do instructional designers design instruction? Or are we designing robust learning experiences? Learner Experience Design is a fundamental shift in thinking about the design of online courses and programs. Explore the IDEAS behind LX Design and why they are critical to our future success as designers.


At iDesignEDU, Whitney leads the learner experience design group that provides white-glove concierge support to faculty. Prior to joining iDesign she served as Vice President, Academic Services for both Domestic and International clients at Academic Partnerships (AP). She was responsible for the planning, development, and assessment of AP's domestic and international partner universities' high-quality online degree programs. Prior to joining AP, Whitney worked for SunGard Higher Education. She received a post-graduate certificate in Educational Technology Leadership from George Washington University, and holds a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A & M Corpus Christi. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Learning Technologies at the University of North Texas and defends her dissertation in June.

Davis speaks extensively around the nation on competency based education, adult degree completion, and higher education trends and is co-author of two recent studies: Leveraging Shared Savings to Promote High-Quality, Cost-Effective Higher Education, and Competency-Based Education Programs in Texas: An Innovative Approach to Higher Education.
